AMR-Ventura County’s Bike Medic Team is a team of highly trained EMT’s and Paramedics who operate off of specially equipped mountain bikes.  Our bike team personnel train with the Ventura County Sheriff’s department in a week-long nationally recognized program that teaches the riders to negotiate various obstacles with relative ease, as well as other important skills such as riding safely in large crowds, and how to deploy bicycle lights and sirens effectively.

 

Having Paramedics and EMT’s on mountain bikes throughout your event will quicken their response and ensure that medical care is always close at hand.  The Bike Medic Team can work a cost effective two-person team at your event or in conjunction with an on-scene ambulance crew to accompany them.  Since AMR is the largest Paramedic Level First Responder and Paramedic Ambulance Transport Provider within Ventura County, one of our 9-1-1 Paramedic Ambulances is always close at hand even if you cannot afford to have one of our ambulances dedicated to your event. In case of a medical emergency our Bike Medic Team members will assess the needs of the patient, start immediate treatment and radio our 9-1-1 communications center to respond a Paramedic Ambulance to the location of the event.
